Peter gained his qualifications
as a Chartered Accountant while working with the large accounting firms
in their Business Services Divisions. This involved the preparation
and analysis of Financial Statements for business clients and providing
growth and business advice. He studied at Macquarie University
and completed his Masters degree in 1989. He went on to be a lecturer
and tutor in Financial Accounting with Macquarie University and is
a regular presenter at Conferences. He has presented widely throughout
Australia, and also overseas.Peter was one of the founding Partners
of Hayes Knight which was established in 1994. Within 6 years they
had offices in each capital city around Australia and two offices in
New Zealand, with 38 partners and 350 staff, making them the 25th largest
accounting firm in Australia, according to the BRW Top 100.
Prior to this Peter spent a number of years in the commercial
sector working with major accounting software suppliers.
It was while he worked with Solution 6 in sales and marketing
that he became their number one salesman, winning the prize
trip to New York and Disneyland. He is Immediate Past President
of CPA Australia, NSW Division and currently serves on the
National Board of Public Practice. He is a member of both
CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Peter joined PKF in 2005 as General Manager of the Professional
Practices Network and was appointed to the role of Marketing
Director in July 2006. He heads up the marketing activities
of PKF in NSW as well as PKF National. Peter has now established
his own consulting practice providing financial and strategic
management advice, including business and practice coaching.
